FAQ

What people usually ask.

Why is my part tiny in the slicer?
STL stores no unit — only numbers. The slicer reads everything as millimetres, so a file modelled in inches shows up 25.4 times smaller, and one in metres a thousand times smaller. The unit button fixes it in one click.
Does scaling ruin how parts fit?
It scales everything together, holes and clearances included: a 5 mm hole at 120% becomes 6 mm. For a part that fits something of fixed size (a screw, a bearing), remodel it; for decoration, miniatures and mock-ups, scaling is the way.
Can I stretch just one direction?
Yes: untick 'keep proportions' and type the size of the axis you want to change.
Is there a file size limit?
The limit is your browser's memory — files of a few hundred MB usually go through. Since nothing uploads, there is no queue or wait.
